As a Naturopath, I ask all of my clients about their poo at every appointment as it is an important indicator of overall health. It is telling us about your gut health. For example, if your transition time is too slow (constipation) you can reabsorb toxins or if it's too fast (loose bowels) you may not get a chance to properly absorb the nutrients from your food and supplements. Or if there’s lots of gas or if you get pain before your bowel movement, then you could have dysbiosis – where there is an imbalance of the good and bad bacteria, fungi and viruses in your gut.
